Industry Experience
Project Management is a formal process designed to control project activities. These
same project process controls adapt to many value chain activities, not just
what we traditionally think of as "projects." Our experience shows that through
a focus on fundamental business analytics, process definition, mapping and control,
we can adapt our EPM expertise across industries with equal successes. In fact,
our broad cross-industry successes build on one another allowing us to cross-pollinate
process improvement ideas and opportunities across dissimilar business that share
common control problems. You bring your industry experience to the table, we help
you identify the gaps in your control processes and meet your management challenges.
Process control issues are surprisingly similar across industries. Here are some
examples of our industry-specific work:
Healthcare and Life Sciences
MSProjectExperts helped Aventis Pharmaceuticals deploy Microsoft Project Server
to manage its Phase 3 and Phase 4 clinical trials for its North American operations,
helping the company to coalesce progress information and disseminate it to both
clinicians and management alike. Besides providing progress and performance
data, the solution tracks FTE equivalents across multiple therapeutic portfolios
for the purpose of resource loading and obtaining accurate charge-back data. MSProjectExperts
leveraged its distance learning technologies to bring training to a geographically
diverse research staff avoiding an enormous travel expense for the company.
We helped Elusys Therapeutics create a control system for its R&D portfolio
of novel biotech therapies that promise to revolutionize treatments in its target
therapeutic focus areas. Designed to help Elusys track detailed progress through
R&D, it also helps the company track effort for use in managing research grants
and tracking performance.
Automotive
MSProjectExperts helped Mercedes Benz USA pioneer the use of Project Server and
Project Management tools to manage new car launches in the US market. We assisted
MBUSA with process codification guidance and created a solution that enables continuous
collaboration among hundreds of people working on the same project objectives. The
2006 Microsoft Project
Conference featured MBUSA's Project Server success story where senior
management cited 25% cycle time improvements and breakthrough ROI on its EPM solution.
We're very proud that we helped MBUSA create a car launch solution that its parent,
Daimler Chrysler Auto Group, declared the benchmark standard for its operations
throughout the world.
Forklifts and package handling trucks aren't as glamorous as Mercedes Benz roadsters,
but product R&D for these has its own challenges. We helped Raymond Corp, a
subsidiary of Toyota, leverage Project Server for managing its new product and product
refresh development through its engineering organization. The solution that interfaces
with its ERP system is helping Raymond Corp put its arms around R&D costs and
schedule performance.
Information Technology
A substantial percentage of all Project Server deployments occur within Information
Technology organizations and IT implementations represent nearly half of our work
experience. Our experience in the IT sector crosses many industries and includes
both IT organizations that support company operations as well as IT organizations
where an Information Technology deliverable is the primary product revenue generator.
With the margins between service and product continually blurring, we understand
the challenges of both service-oriented and product-oriented IT organizations and
how to architect EPM solutions for organizations actively engaged in supporting
both modalities.
We've implemented EPM solutions for Information Technology in Financial Services,
Law firms, Big 5 consulting, Pharma, Universities, Training organizations,
Health Care, Architecture and Engineering, Retail and many other industries.
High-tech Manufacturing
Genesis Microchip, one of the world's leading manufacturers of video microchips,
uses Project Server to manage product development. We helped Genesis meet the challenge
of collaborating on projects across three continents with users in North America,
Eastern Europe and the Asian subcontinent as well as helping it to better integrate
its software, analog and digital engineering disciplines.
MSProjectExperts worked with a large national diagnostic equipment manufacturer
to coral its R&D efforts to bring its next generation product line to market.
Improved controls shortened cycle times helping the company meet its time-to-market
initiatives.
Semi-custom Manufacturing and Construction
Microsoft Project Server is a perfect solution to control semi-custom processes,
particularly for industries that deliver customized manufacturing and fabrication.
We've built solutions for companies that both run their own shop operations as well
as for companies that manage these processes across outsource providers. Our implementations
include numerous companies that build custom components for commercial installation.
We can help you craft a solution for your custom fabrication business that helps
you manage the process from presales and design through delivery, site prep and
installation. We can help you capture and coalesce progress data from contractors
and subcontractors and make progress data visible to key customers providing enormous
collaborative efficiency gains.
Sales, Advertising, Marketing and Promotions
Fast paced and full of non-stop action, agencies providing sales, marketing, advertising
and promotion services have some of the most demanding cycle-time requirements to
meet, where projects can change by the hour. Whether deploying for a marketing group
within a larger organization or an agency that provides these services, It takes
a special sensitivity to tune an EPM solution to the needs of an agency so that
it can keep up with the environment as well as meet the unique personality quirks
that typically drive agency success. MSProjectExperts has helped numerous companies
in this sector meet the challenges of their fast-changing environments, and meet
the needs of creative staff by making participation palatable and by getting solution
elements to play on MAC networks.
